No.30 Safe as houses

Lots of people like to travel. Lots of people live for their 2 weeks holiday every summer. Some people even take a year out just to go travelling. The little girl wasn’t one of them.

The little girl liked to visit different places but liked to go home at the end of the day (except for when she went camping, that felt like a moveable home.) Putting down roots and staying still was more important to the little girl. Foundations and familiarity. Safety and security.

There was also so much to see, do, experience where she lived. Beautiful landscapes and an abundance of history, and all the stories that history provides. It would take a lifetime to take it all in. The little girl saw no reason to go anywhere else. Drawing houses must have come from the need for roots, a base. When you need safety and security what could be better….safe as houses.
